Do you mean to do a directory restore? Be very careful, get it wrong and it is bye-bye domain.

i have my own test environment at home and want to know how i would restore just the sysvol folder if ever it went corrupt or the permissions were accidently changed on it.
Would i need to do a system state restore or could i just restore a backup i have created using NTbackup
