Are both Net Frameworks installed now by Windows Updates or do you have to do a manual install of them.?
Do you have to install 1.1 as well as 2.0 or can you just install 2.0?
Example
If i do a clean install of XP Pro which has SP2 integrated, then went online and did a Windows Update, are the Net Frameworks pulled down as part of the update or do you have to do manual install of the Frameworks?

Frameworks 1 and 2 are separate, so you need to install both. I doubt they would be automatically installed through the public windows update, but if you went to the website you could choose to install it. The security updates would, however, get automatically installed.
You can have it installed through WSUS, but I found that .net 1 wasn't being installed, so I went back to deploying that through active directory.

Just had a horrible thought - although may be completely irrelevant. You mentioned Windows Updates, however, when I said that MS .NET Frameworks were released automatically I was refering to the updated Microsoft Update. This shouldn't present a problem but just a really silly point if you are not getting them downloaded automatically using Windows Updates this could be the reason.
