Intranet and Windows Media Player

We have got some videos on our intranet which work well throw WMP some times.

But on some computers when you click on the link to run the video it askes you to type in you user name and password and then playes the film

However on some other computers i does not ask you for the user name and password and does not let the video play on saying WMP has encountered an unknown error.

This is with WMP 9 , 10 , 11

Can some on help.

is it asking you the username and password for the proxy?

make sure all WMP are upto date that should dure the error

It is not asking for the proxy password but the user password that you loged in as.

we are useing rm easylink which lets you see the intranet. this work well but when you click on the link to down loat the WMP file some times it askes for the user password that you loged in to easylink with than it will let you down load it but if it does not ask for you password it come up with the error (windows media player encountered an error when connrcting to the server. The security infomation from the server could not be validadted)
