Reverting default media player selection back to WMP across a network
Hello,
Ive searched far and wide for a solution to this issue, and have stumbled across similar answers and some very unhelpful ones too.
Basically, all of our computers have several media players installed. WMP, WinAmp and VLC. Winamp is currently the default, we would like to change this back to WMP. I know you can go onto a machine individually and reset the file associations or go through the "Set Default Programs and Access" option within control panel. But I am having difficulty trying to work out how to do this in a batch job. I thought of deploying a reg fix through an adm in group policy, but cant for the life of me find where this setting is stored in the registry. I also know that there is no out of the box gpo for this either.
Any help/ideas would be much appreciated.
This is where i miss having Impero's key/mouse stroke script creator!

- You could use the "assoc" command to set these in a script
- Set these using a reg fragment of the appropriate extentions from HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
- Set these as above but by converting the reg fragments into an ADM template (tricky with this lot of keys but this Guide to Creating Custom ADM Files for GPO Distribution may help)
