Hey
Does anyone know of any room booking software that runs on an internal server? It needs to be basic but effective as teachers will be using it and it also needs to tie in with AD so that we dont have to give them another log on.
Please let me know as we are getting sick of all the paper work it is causing

Have a search for MRBS on these forums. You will find talk of these and other alternatives. Webman has done one as well I think.
cheers will have a look
You can use Windows Sharepoint Services (part of Windows 2k3) Events to create an effective resource booking system.
Edit the columns and settings to add a drop down for the resources you want to make bookable, then create view filters to screen out the other resources.
No code required. We've got a number of schools using it for anything from room bookings to projectors to sports halls.
You can do a lot with the basic WSS site without going to the expense of Sharepoint.

I am just starting to think about writing that into my Sharepoint Site, so now you have said you are using it I will crack on with it.
Cheers

'nough said... saves me repeating myself.
I've just spotted this is an older thread, but as I've typed the response I might as well add it in case its any use to anyone!
We use a system from Devize's school which can be found at: Booking System Web Site.
We are using the 2.3 version, but will consider moving to v3 over the summer holiday.
I also spotted this the other day, again I will look at this one over the summer holiday and decide which to use:
MRBS: Introduction
Using the latest version of this. It's not the nicest looking system but it works. We use a system from Devize's school which can be found at: Booking System Web Site.
Is the AD integration any good with it? Have you got it playing nicely with CC3? or do you use a different system?

I'll give it a try when I get chance - thanks for your input
Another vote for MRBS and Devizes School's booking system, we use a combination of both here for different purposes, both work very well.

I use webmans classroom bookingsVery good product, and the more edugeekers using it the more pressure we can put him under to get the V2 one sorted as its looks great from his screenshots and from what Bossman said at the Conf when talking about it it is sounding very good

I use a system I developed for room booking that other schools are now also using.
I don't want to get my knuckles wrapped for advertising so if you are interested you can pm me and I will email you the details.
It's a web based system as opposed to an internal solution as mentioned earlier.
Cheers

I've just implemented » Free Online School Tools - Detentions, Praise Postcards & Room Booking. Free software for schools which is proving popular with the staff. Especially being able to book from home. "God, I don't want to teach lesson 1 on Monday, I wonder if an ICT Suite is free?"
The only slight downside is that if you have alternating weeks, you have to apply them to all rooms. The block bookings for our ICT suites are weekly but the Library is alternate weeks. So I have had to do the ICT suite block bookings twice. No big deal, beats the old system where I had to do them 40 odd times.
