i wanted to start with something easier. wsus seems a bit complicated. i tried to make it and sus work before but i had to give up. Im having another go. seeing as sus wont work suppose i might as well try wsus

well i've broken msde and windows installer on the server now. :-|
by server i mean workstation with server os on. nevertheless in order to fix/reinstall win2k on the 1st "server" its an older box that only runs 2 techy websites. i need to move them on to another workstation running server 2003 thats been setup to use an intranet server. however can i get php working. like hell i can. there some sort of 403 permissions error, although ive given 'network service' permissions to everything in sight and its still not working. I followed good instructions
http://www.peterguy.com/php/install_IIS6.html
This is why i intensely dislike new microsoft stuff, nothing ever works like its supposed to cos they've made it too complicated. Either that or I must just be incompatible with ms cos you'd think i'd have got the hang of it after 10 years hmph.
