Flash - I hate the installation.....

I have tried deploying it via MSI and although it appears to work most of the time....(sometimes my PC's just hang).....quite frequently when a non-admin logs in it does nt work...

Our fix is to un-install, run an uninstaller utility...then visit the adobe site and re-install, after that it works fine for students/teachers.

How easy/hard would it be to make necessary changes to allow the students/teachers to upgrade/install flash themselves....it would save me so much time constantly trying to fix flash install - non-running problems.

I have just created this after reading the Adobe Admin article....

    REM Begin quietInstall.bat
    REM Uninstall Flash Player ActiveX
    %Comspec% /c msiexec /x "\\fp2\SHApps\Flash10\install_flash_player_10_acti ve_x.msi" /qn
    REM Install Flash Player ActiveX
    %Comspec% /c msiexec /i "\\fp2\SHApps\Flash10\install_flash_player_10_acti ve_x.msi" /qn
    REM End quietInstall.bat

If I logon as admin to run this then logon with a non admin account - all images on our website which are flash enabled just show as red crosses?

    Arrgghhhhh

However when I visit www.pepsi.com - which is flash enabled as a test student - their site is fine....

    Arrrgggggghhhh

To update when I log on to the PC and check our website...the site is fine....

I will need to create a test user and investigate what it is about being ADMIN that allows the flash images to appear on our website...

    Annoying...

    Hi

I dont know why but with the last one I pushed out it installed but on just a few machines it got stuck at the end of the install and needed a hard reboot. When i checked the flash it was installed correctly and worked.

I do hope the latest one version 10.1 installs ok.

this wouldn't be related to this article would it?
Problems running Flash Player 8.0.24.0 ActiveX control after installation when logged in as Restricted User on Windows

It's for v8, buit I'm sure I had similar issues with 9 too - so it may be affecting v10....
