Adding Windows 7 Home Premium to XP Network
Hi, I'm looking at buying 32pcs from Acer Aspire Revo R3610 Desktop PC - Desktops | Ebuyer.com to our XP network. 2 questions:
1) Is it ok to leave them as Win7 HP? Presumably I can map shared drives to our server for our 4 user accounts (Junior School). What about preventing wallpaper changes etc?
2) We are still on an XP Pro network. How much/can I downgrade Win7HP to XP Pro?
Thanks in advance!

To get any type of functionality on a network and perhaps group policy control/joining a domain you are going to need Win 7 Professional/Business. ask the supplier to upgarde them to professional or else buy some upgrade licenses. I don't think you can downgrade from Win 7 Home to XP professional.

That is correct, you can only downgrade to an equivalent version.
