Over Christmas sometime, Mr Gates has made old copies of Defender time out but instead of putting up a little box saying so - the program just reports an error instead.
You just have to download it and install it again
regards
Simon
PS And it doesn't work on Win2000 anymore

This is one of the reasons I am slowly going around and removing it altogether - especially now that Sophos has a spyware scanner in it.

Only if you are licenced for it. The rest of us need something else.

Everyone is licenced for the Spy and Malware scanning part of Sophos its the firewall client that you don't get as far as I was aware

Hmmm do you have a special version of it then or something, take it you must update from the LEA rather than direct or something as they will have it, we do over the border, but we update direct rather than from another source.

Update from the LEA's servers. I have EM2 so therefore have controls for the Firewall client. However there is no package available on the upstream server.
