    Internet Explorer Plug-in Files - Where are they? for network camera...

    Hi,

    We have various network cameras around the school. Staff cannot install IE plug-ins, so if any department wants to view a camera in "thier" room i have to manually install the plugin as below:

    I have tried and failed to use group policy to allow the installation of this plugin, so thought if I can find the files etc i can create a simple msi to roll out.

    Ive had a search for bl_camera.cab but cannot find it anywhere? Does anyone know where and how these are installed?

    Many thanks

    Thanks !!
    Well there are 2 files in there, and simply having them present on another machine isnt good enough. Guess it needs installing

    There is no "bl_camera.cab", only 2 files, bl_camera.ocx and bl_camera.inf

    Does anyone please know a way I can install this camera plugin?

    ; INF file for BL_CAMERA.OCX
    [version]
    signature="$CHICAGO$"
    AdvancedINF=2.0

    [Add.Code]
    BL_CAMERA.ocx=BL_CAMERA.ocx

    [BL_CAMERA.ocx]
    file-win32-x86=thiscab
    clsid={87BE3784-6977-4E84-AA08-55A96B9CEAC5}
    FileVersion=1,2,0,84
    DestDir=
    RegisterServer=yes

    ;[hook1]
    ;run=regsvr32.exe /s Kxhcm10.ocx

    ;end of INF file

    "This cannot be installed in this manor"... or simular error

    It must be making registry changes as well as copying files.

    I will go back to the drawing board and try and get the plugin "Approved" in AD

    This is the group policy that I am applying to the computers:

    I have installed the plugin on my computer and checked that the CLASS ID is correct:

    Name: Bl_camera Control
    Publisher: Panasonic Communications Co.,Ltd.
    Type: ActiveX Control
    Class ID: {87BE3784-6977-4E84-AA08-55A96B9CEAC5}
    File: BL_CAMERA.ocx
    Folder: C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files

    With this group policy applied they still cannot install the plugin?
    Does anyone have any ideas please?
