Symptoms? Error messages? What kind of profiles are you using? Roaming? Mandatory?
Sorry
Im using redirected folders. A profile is cached on the machines at logon. I would like to look at using man. profiles, but can you use them with redirected folders? I am running an AD domain, win2k3 servers and all xp sp2 clients.
Problem arose this AM after last nights delprofs. Of course favorites and printers were deleted, now it seems that Java has been broken. can someone explain how this is so? I am running in circles unfortunately. One man IT department for 400+ pcs and 140 printers and 8 servers. I have one person who handles some apps, he is now installing some apps for me as I type, but he doesnt play with MS OS's. Im beginning to think I shouldnt either LOL.....I am burning my MCSE certs now (NT4, 2000, 2k3).
Part of the copnsole report looks like thus:

Not sure why this has happened but what have you tried to resolve the issue? How was Java installed initially?
My first port of call would be to roll Java out again... easy enough to do via GPO. If you are unsure how, check out www.appdeploy.com .
yeah, reinstall doesnt do it.....

How about removing it and trying a different release?
I use the same setup as you, folder re-direction and a default user profile with JRE installed via GPO. It just works.
Sorry for not being much help.
Another thought... you have tried several Java apps/applets... there was a post recently about a Java applet not correctly going through a proxy. You have definately got Java installed and the the ability to see the console info proves that it is trying to do something.
Ric, your providing more help than you know
Yes, it has me at a loss as to how the app is sitting there, I am seeing it, but it isnt running. Another query, it is running on other machines in the domain, just not a bunch. no clue as to why at this point. Reinstalls, reboots, nothing seems to work at this time.
ok, this was a trick:
I deleted the program. Looked for any SUN fodlers, deleted them, rebooted the system. Reinstalled Java, rebooted, and all is well.
Damnit. I have to do this to 365 machines. Minus the 22 my second guy got to.
