Create local user for students on a networked laptop?

Hi All,
We have had a bit of a meltdown with our already pathetic wireless for our student laptops in a trolley.
So in the short term, as we are a good few weeks from fixing the wireless, our Head of Science has asked if we can create a local log on for students so they can still use all the science apps.
Now I can't see an easy way to lock down the laptops without a great deal of playing with local gpos. So...
Can anyone suggest any apps or shortcuts that might help with this process?

Make a batche file, put it on a usb, and put it round manually?

Can you expand slightly please? I'm not quite sure what you mean.

You could spend a little time setting up the local GPO on one laptop and then just copy across the grouppolicy folder to the other laptops.

You could use Windows Steady State to lock down the laptops
