we use websense to only give students access to the net only when a teacher asks, So most of the time students have no access.
We have found a problem where students have a really limited amount of clipart in office unless they are connected to the net, I want to find a way of only allowing access to the office.microsoft.com site at all times, could i set up a white list on the default profile and if so does nayone know of a janet and john guide on how to do it?

I'm guessing you're running Microsoft Office 2003?
If you have the Media Content CD for Office XP you can put that on a network drive and run a simple regedit to make all computers look at that for it. Would you like me to dig out the method?

Found it the info on the MS website
How to perform a network installation of the contents of the Office XP Media Content CD
To install the contents of the Office XP Media Content CD on a network share, you must copy the contents of the Office XP Media Content CD to the network share. After the contents have been copied to the network share, on each client computer that you want to use to access the content, follow these steps:
1. Exit all programs that are running.
2. Click Start, click Run, type the following command, and then click OK:
msiexec.exe /i \\Network_server\share\CAG.MSI ADDSOURCE=ALL /qb
Taken from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/897754/
I remember now that I used a cmd file with that in to do it on my clients, but it needs an Admin to run it.

I also found that searching for Clipart on Office Online made Word hang for 5 minutes while is seached, presumably trying to get through the ISA or something.
Anyway, I disabled searching online using the Office Group Policies so now they only search the local (though actually network stored) clipart as described above.
Obviously there's nothign stopping them using the Online Clipart if they go the the website but that's fine as I didn't want to ban it, just remove it from default searches

You mention a regedit - I'm guessing in theory you would only need to place the contents of the Office XP Media Content disk on the Network and then point the clients to it - rather than running around with an installer of sorts or is the installer the only way to do this?
(Don't you just love it when Microsoft make huge sweeping changes like this?)

Out of interest, how are you enabling and disabling pupil access in Websense? Are you enabling individuals/reg groups/year groups/ everyone?
We have Websense set up to block people by group memberships, but Websense will only look up what groups people are in once per hour maximum, which is useless for a school setting. Have I missed a trick?!
