You will need to do a reghack on the machine in question:
1. Exit Outlook2003 if it is running.
2. Start Regedit
(Assuming you are using Office 2003 you will go into 11.0 after Office)
3. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\O utlook\Security
4. Create a new string (if its not already there) value called Level1Remove
5. Enter in the file extensions you want to use, such as .exe or .bat
6. You can have multiple file types separated by a semicolon
7. .exe;.asp
Ive just tried that on a machine, and its still not letting me download the file. Its there anything else that can be done??

Why not just zip it?
Please note that step 7 you will need to have .mdb in there and Outlook has to be closed (im guessing you already know that but have to make sure). You will also need to be logged in as that person for this to work. Is it Outlook that you are using or OWA?
yeah i knew about that, i also restarted the machine. Im using both, OWA and outlook but mainly outlook
Hmm thats odd then, I did that for my Outlook 2003 and it worked a treat (won't work for OWA obviously as its a website and as far as i know you cant alter what gets blocked unless you hack it). I would have to agree with Dos_Box then, either zip it or rename the file so it has an acceptable extension.![]()
yeah thanks, i said that to the guy before but he just shrugged his shoulders and said fix it lol, oh well. He knows for next time
Cheers anyway
Filtering through Exchange 2003 can be configured using the Outlook Web Access Administration Website.
On your Exchange server, open Internet Explorer and go to address: https://127.0.0.1/owaadmin (you must use https)
Enter domain\username and password
Click on Attachment Handling
You can do lots of things from OWAAdmin, make all your users use the same colour webmail, remove certain features etc...
nice one, never knew about that feature.. but one problem, ive jsut tried and got page cannot be displayed, do i have to have IIS running on that machine?

to access OWWAdmin you have to install it first on the Exchange / OWA server if I remember correctly.
Oh yeh forgot that lol.
