Shockwave v126.96.36.1992/6 bug
Right I thought i'd create a new thread this issue seems to of been introduced in v188.8.131.522 and later versions.
It only seems to happen for 'users' though if I log on as an admin to troubleshoot the issue I don't see the issue.
When attempting to deploy Shockwave v184.108.40.2062 an incorrect repair of the MSI is triggered on first use of the software for each user.
A few posts blame a virus but i've tested this on several PC's including a new build and scanned them all with upto date AV. This happens on XP and a Server 2003 Citrix box.
Adobe Forums: 220.127.116.112 Group Policy Installation...
Has anyone deployed this version of Shockwave and solved the issue?

Have not installed or troubleshooted but I would be turning the Windows Installer logging to max:
How to enable Windows Installer logging
and then looking to see which component of the MSI is triggering the issue, it may be fixable in ORCA

I'll take a look tomorrow if I have time but it might have to wait. Hopefully Adobe will fix it for me but I won't count on it.

Currently having this issue - appeared in .606, but wasn't there in .602. Will poke around with Orca. I'm betting money on legacy components missing from the installer.

Ok thanks, I plan to do the same but it's way down the list at the moment.

I've had problems in the past (actually, still in the present) with Shockwave working for Admins but not Users... link

-ish. Research shows it deploys perfectly happily and works fine in two computer rooms and is broken in a third (main) one.
