Software to view Hard Drive Space?

    Hi

A few years ago I was given a piece of freeware which I thought was excellent but now canít find it anywhere or remember what it was called.

Basically you installed it and it scanned your hard drive and showed in boxes on a screen the size of the folders in relation to how many GB was in each one. It just made things so easy. I'm currently hunting on our server where someone has managed to take up about 20GB of disc space. I just canít find it! My guess is someone with a lovely 12MP camera has stuck her photos somewhere!!

Anyone have any ideas or seen something that resembles what I'm talking about?!?!

The one you describe sounds like WinDirStat, which RingOfFlame mentioned above. While we're listing some alternatives, I quite like HDGraph.

I had a nice simple one in Win98 days that I can't remember the name bit it started with a D i think.

I liked it cause it quickly showed a pie chart and then you just drilled down to see where the big files were hiding.

    Can't find it now

    regards

Treesize Free only works on local drives, though - try MemeCode - i.Disk which is also free and can scan network drives.
