Windows Thread, print manager logging jobs in Technical; i need to find a peice of software that will log all print jobs i know you cna see it ...

    print manager logging jobs

    i need to find a peice of software that will log all print jobs i know you cna see it in the event viewer bu i have been told that if someone prints 2 copys of 4 pages it will only say 4 pages i can see users but we are on a bit of a econmoy drive and need to find out who is printing what and how much it has just taken me 1 hour to do one user using the evt log. any ideas would be great.

    You want something like Pcounter or Print Manager plus. Have a search for these items on the forums and you will find a few posts.
    With regards to interrogating the event log a bit of WMI scripting will do that for you.

    wmi scripting not good at that at all lol. pcounter or print manager plus
    these are the ones i have been looking at and at $500 plus it is not a cheap option lol.

    There is a linux option as well but cant remember its name at the moment. Somebody will pop up with it though. Then again a linux system isnt for everyone either.

    This one was mentioned on here not too long ago and it's since provided me with the ammunition I needed to deal with some prolific printing nuts who had a habit of printing off QCA and other similar tomes just to leave them sitting there unclaimed as if printing them mean't they had read and absorbed them..
