Ok the basics
server 2003 sp1
xp machines
When I create a GPO for folder redirection its isnt being applied. It doesnt show in eentvwr as a problem. GPresult doenst show it being applied or not - its just not listed.
GPMC modeling wizard shows that IT should be applying with no problems.
I can create GPO's for other things, i.e. desktop wallpaper, msi installs and they are working fine, its just folder redirection.
Its got me stumped, any ideas appreciated.

Are you using GPO to customise internet explorer also? If you are, have a look at this link

Have you checked the box that say "grant user exclusive rights"?
If so uncheck it and try again.
If the ownership of their my docs folder is not set correctly then redirection will fail.

Its not ticked, and its not giving me any error's or any rsop signs of the gpo even attempted to be applied.
The xpsp2 workstations so no recognition that there is a gpo to be applied, its not listed as failed or skipped, its just not mentioned

Its not a proper solution, but have you tried pusing a login script regmerge to do the redirection? you can use %username% in a Reg merge..

If it's failing to apply then there has to be a reason.
What do you have typed in as the location to redirect to?

path is unc \\server\shared folder.
now ive made the mistake before of putting wrong path in and on the client machine there is always an error in eventvwr to tell me whats up but this time there is no indication on any client machine that there is even a gpo called "pupils redirection"

Re: Folder redirection gpo not applying
Have you tried running RSoP in logging mode using the Group Policy Management Console?
Also, try gpresult /v /scope:user from the command prompt whilst logged on as one of the users.
