    BackupExec 11d restore problems

I've got a really irritating problem with BackupExec 11d and restore jobs/catalogs/job contents.

In one job I run, it backs up our public drive and it appears to do this fine (the job results in 125GB of data being backed up), but when I go back and try to restore, the folder is empty in the selection list. Every other folder in the job is populated but not that one.

I've tried running the inventory, tried various bits such as How to manually force Backup Exec for Windows Servers to re-index the on-disk catalogs to potentially resolve issues with the Restore Selections not showing up properly or prevent duplicate job failures to no avail.

Any ideas what I can do to actually get my data to appear?!

i have had a similar issue to this before:

they way i fixed was to re install backupexec on another server that had never had any index etc on.

I then told it to do a catalogue of the media. (resotred fine after that)

Not a nice fix but worked.

I have to manually tell it to catalog the media?? Dear god! I have thousands of 'files' which each require their own catalog job in order to do that.

You can, but you have to click ok on a job creation window for every backup file (media file, if you want to call it that)...

Also, we don't have a license to install it on another server, not to mention re-cataloguing 1TB of files will take a short while...
