Default Network Picture / Document Scannimg

Do any of you guys use a network scanner and if so can you reccomend any thing to me? if you do how is it set up?

many thanks

Kris.

Edit :- P.s. the topic title is meant to be scanning! its been a long week!

just to make my self a little clearer this is a scanner of the picture variety not a port scanner or anything like that

cheers.

I'm also interested in hearing any thoughts on this too....

Cost-wise, is it a good idea or not?

Anyone with any experience care to lend their thoughts?

Ta,
Nath

Several of the primary schools I look after have gone down the route of a network colour photocopier to cut printing costs. As a side affect these photocopiers can scan and produce a PDF/GIF/JPEG/TIFF of anything scanned into them and send it to an email address/network share/ftp server.

I currently have one setup at one of the schools to scan in pdf format to a network share accessable by staff only as a trial.
