    Re: IE7 available

I'm a M$ whore but I am thinking of deploying Firefox during half term as my Smoothwall prefers non Microsoft stuff when it comes to NTLM authentication.

Played with it before but couldn't get it to stop prompting for changing the default browser settings.

I just need to look deeper.

    The ADM files prevent this.
I've not been able to lock down about:config or proxy settings yet

I would bet money on the fact that you have Tux the penguin pyjama's and have Kubuntu K's patterned on your bedspread.

    Indeed.

DHCP your comments are not welcome. We all take sides/ have our particular hates etc., but refrain from getting personal.

    Re: IE7 available

Keeping on topic, more details on managing the install
Of course we want to make sure you are ready to upgrade, so AU will notify you when IE7 is ready to install by presenting a welcome screen. You can choose whether or not to install it; IE7 will not install without your consent.
I also want to remind you that IE7 setup will preserve your current toolbars, home page, search settings, and favorites and will not change your choice of default browser. You will also be able to roll back to IE6 by using Add/Remove Programs. Only a user who is a local administrator will be offered the update. You can find more details and screenshots here.
Organizations using Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and System Management Server (SMS) can manage the IE7 deployment like they do other updates. The IE7 package will be classified as an Update Roll-up and must be approved to install on designated groups of Windows XP and Server 2003 clients.
Organizations that use AU to keep their computers up-to-date can use a free Blocker Toolkit to block automatic delivery of IE7. This blocker has no expiration date; you can find more information in the blocker FAQ.

Like the troll thinks we actually listen...

Anyways, I guess this is one of those times that it's best to let someone else stick their neck out and install it... Judging by the bugs appearing and the gnashing of teeth it's best left for a few months yet...

New and shiny is all well and good but if it breaks everything why the heck would we go there... Tsshah.. like really :P

    Re: IE7 available

Hello there everyone! I would like to appologise if I have upset anyone on the forum as my comments where not intended to cause offense and I was only intending to create a bit of humour and liven things up a bit. I guess I was just letting off a bit of steam as I have been a bit upset recently owing to the fact that my uncle died recently.

    Re: IE7 available

So far IE 7 has been installed on 2 computers in different rooms mostly to see if anyone will notice or have problems. All going ok so far. Strangely not even had any reports of the interface changing or being weird. I guess when it comes to the Internet children and Teachers don’t care what the interface looks like.

But I bet if I changed MS word they would suddenly not be able to find they way around or navigate the menus to find what they want.

    Re: IE7 available

Has anyone had any issues with IE7 when using/viewing ASP pages? I seem to be having some troubles with them when using vista, and am a little unsure whether its an ie7 problem, or a vista one
