When I try and install AVG on a laptop it comes up with error code 0XE001C011, where it can't download the content from the internet. The laptop is a standalone and can connect to the www fine.
Does anyone have a full older version they can link me to?
Much appreciated.

Use http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/ instead![]()
Or use a proper anti virus as the OP suggested and not some bloated, over hyped, useless piece of M$ rubbish.

I had the exact same problem with another machine I installed AVG on recently. I tried 24 hours later and it worked. Clearly it was AVG's servers at fault. When I try and install AVG on a laptop it comes up with error code 0XE001C011, where it can't download the content from the internet. I have to disagree with you there as Microsoft Security Essentials is actually a very good piece of software. It is not bloated, it actually has a smaller memory footprint than AVG and it does everything it was designed to do.
Regarding the error message I have seen this before when using the download manager. If you download the full package and use that then you won't get the problem.
