We've got some ipaqs in for use with PARS, and it's all going disturbingly well. But, if these take off, I'm wondering how I'm going to manage configs, installed apps and patches (?).
A quick google reveals management tools from stupidly expensive -> held together with string.
Is there any decent pocketpc imaging software out there? Can I create a perfect image, back it up and then restore to other pocketpcs?
Sorry if these are obvious questions, but I'm a lifelong Palm user.

You should be able to use the build in back/restore from within programs.
Backup to an SD card and then restore when anything goes tits-up.

@matt,
cheers, I really should have found that myself
ops:
@ind13
cool, thanks
@Uraken
We chose iPAQ hx2490s because another sysadmin I know had PARS working on them without issues and we got a good deal from the supplier. Compared to a Palm T3 they feel a bit plasticky, but they appear to be holding up ok.
We'll only be using (or rather, I will only support) PARS on the ipaqs - they're so our PE Teachers can take registers on the field using cached data and synch later using the cradle.

@Uraken
Simon Pierce at Dabs is the guy I've been dealing with recently:
0870 429 3017
0870 429 7017
spierce@beta.dabs.com
Caveat - we're part of the CPC, mentioned here: http://www.edugeek.net/index.php?nam...ewtopic&t=3152
which sweetens the deal considerably.
