I am having trouble with such a simple sounding problem but it doesn't seem to be as simple as simon to be honest. Powerpoint files are trying to open in word, and right clicking and changing the open program doesn't change it for good for some reason.
Has anybody seen this before? It seems to be something to do with the network more than the files themselves.
So...you're double-clicking on a Powerpoint file and it tries to open in Word. First thing I'd check is that it has a .ppt file extension, then open a folder window and look at Tools...Options...Filetypes, scroll down to PPT add choose Advanced...Open...Edit and check the entry for "Application".
(Is this happening with multiple files / multiple PCs...?)
