    Media Player 10 via WSUS

Has anyone here deployed MP10 using WSUS I'd like to role it out to current PC's and am trying to work out the best way.

Also anyone using WMP 11 any issues with it?

We deployed 10 and 11 via WSUS without encountering any issues. We ran a test group for a while then pushed out to everything else.

Any issues with 11 i'm thinking of the store features and things the kids can mess with.

Do you need to set defaults and so on in the user profile?

    Thanks.

I usually install MP11 etc on the main image instead of deploying via WSUS.

If you have a look under -

User Config > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Windows Media Player > User Interface

Set and Lock Skin - Enabled (leave field blank)
Do Not Show Anchor - Enabled

    Windows Media Enterprise Deployment

This enables you to deply it through GP, or you could use WinINSTALL LE to create an MSI, this also gives you the option to configure any settings you might want to have. Not 100% if WinINSTALL works with WMP though because i have never tried it. It does work well with most applications though.

IIRC (been a while) it was all done in GPOs.

Windows Media Enterprise Deployment doesn't appear to support WMP11 I haven'y had any luck with WinINSTALL either. Looks like WSUS could be the way forwards.

Well i've imported it into WSUS and applied it to a small group, it appears to work very well.
