trying to make a boot cd from a partition, going to be our own ghost nic boot cd. have got a working floppy but ghost doesnt fit on it. was unable to inject ghost into a boot cd using floppy emulation. it just cant be done.
found some instructions for doing it with a 640mb partition. sys the partition, copy files on, burn in nero except it doesnt work and ive already accidently converted my ntfs c: drive to a 640mb partition somehow using a win98 boot disk once!
anyone ever sucessfully done this?

I successfully made Ghost CDs from floppys by using the WinImage
I then read the first disk, changed the format to 2.88MB disk, then added the Ghost.exe from the second disk, into the ghost folder.
Then save this as a IMA image, then burned it using Nero.
It then works as the floppy disks would, but just a lot quicker!
Don't know whether this method would work for you?

We use a Universal Boot Floppy thing I found on the net - it boots and creates a ram disk and does it all from there - I can send details if you want.

someone else at work has made a disk. i wanted to make a cd version that potentially could add stuff to (more than 2.88mb) ...a thing worth knowing how to do me thinks.

once you've got it working on Floppy, you can then use that to build your CD boot disk

not if you want more than a floppy sized data you cant. Thats why i was experimenting with hard disk emulation rather than floppy disk emulation.
i got it working with the 2.88 disk method after working thru some problems such as the floppy image was messed up, so started again with a working floppy, then the ramdrive was too small for ghost so had to increase that, then then remastered UHA file was extracting incorrectly to a folder, so i had to rebuild that. then it worked lol :-)

I used a USB key to build mine, seemed to work well enough

Ghost on CD's
Been a while since I have done this.
Create ghost image of the drive/partition using a split according to your CD size, I usually just stick with 650mb.
Use bootdisk.zip and create a bootable floppy.
You need to extract the Ghost.exe and Ghost.bat, I did this by creating a Ghost startup disk on floppy and extracting the files from there.
Edit the .bat file, my example is below.
GHOST.EXE -clone,MODE=pload,SRC=%CDROM%\Fujitsu.GHO:1,DST=1:1
Now burn it all to CD.
I used Nero, select create a bootable CD, insert the ghost.exe and ghost.bat and then the 1st section of the image. Nero then asks you for the boot file location, I directed it to the floppy created using bootdisk.zip.
