regional & languages settings
A teacher is doing Chinese lessons and has requested that I add Chinese in the regional & languages settings so that the characters can become available via the keyboard. However Chinese doesn't appear as a language to select, any ideas why not?
I was installing XP earlier and notice during setup that in the settings it was displayed in the list, not sure why it is missing from the machines in question though.

23rd September 2009, 06:16 PM #2 XP is sucky with languages.
We have found the only effective way to install them for all users is by doing it at initial system install. The solution we did was delete all the existing profiles, sysprep the machine, install when it resets.
We have Russian, Chinese (and English) on our languages computers. If you give the staff access they may be able to add this themselves, but it is per user.
If you have roaming profiles, then this won't work, and you will have to loosen the permissions.
