I have just had to reinstall windows but only the windows folder. I had outlook 2003 setup previously and at the moment have oulook 2000 setup. As far as I know my mail should all be held on the server and not some .pst file. When I look at my mail box in Exchange system manager there are 44 emails in my inbox but I only have recent mail in Outlook. How do I get hold of these?

Hmmm.... I take it a "repair" of windows then? (i.e. reinstalling windows over itself that is lol)
Never full proof unfortunately.
I take it you are using exchange 200x?
I'm getting worried about getting it now :S - seen so many probs on here alone lol
I'll keep thinking Chris but it dont look good :S

No windows installed to a new windows folder on the same partition.

@Chris: It should just work.
Fscking OWA has given up on me again and I can't remember how I fixed this same problem last time!
@Tarq: Exchange is good once it's running - it just has it's moments when you're configuring it. I definately wouldn't advise against buying it - it's very easy to administer on a day-to-day basis.

@Chris: Try using Outlook 2003 - it's a bit more clever and I usually find that it solves the unexplained problems.

Thanks Ric - my confidence in it is reinstated lol
Chris - I see [different win folder
] but it may have been nasty to Documents and Settings :/ I'd have thought the files should still be there tho - in one of the usual places
Outlook 2k3 rocks

Gah not again
It's only office 2003 it doesnt like though!!! all other MSIs are fine. I need to wait until I get another disk in for the backups to run to before I reinstall again. The temporary measure of using my workstation disk wasnt a good idea as Im sure the 8 hour a day thrashing it was receiving was the cause of the corruption. Oh well .....

Yep - lol - you dont have them on a seperate disk in your workstation then? I've got a disk "hanging" in the DC for the WSUS partiton and also for holding a few disk images. I need a bigger drive in it tho
