Winsuite is a nightmare and i got shot of it...

i used a VB script that added them when they logged on.... It used the names of the machines to decide which printers to give them access too

aye id work round winsuite on this issue (and it means when you finally get rid of it its one less thing to sort)

    i use the below script

    Code:
    ' Printers.vbs - Jonathan
    Option Explicit
    Dim objNetwork
    on error resume next

    Set objNetwork = CreateObject("WScript.Network")
    objNetwork.AddWindowsPrinterConnection "\\server\laser1"
    objNetwork.AddWindowsPrinterConnection "\\server\colour1"
    objNetwork.AddWindowsPrinterConnection "\\server\hallcolour1"

    objNetwork.SetDefaultPrinter "\\server\Laser1"
changing the last line as appropriate (or even hiding printers by not adding as needed) and saving to netlogon\printers\name.vbs. then i create shortcuts to each script in the same location

i then create a gpo for each ou that runs a script

    Code:
    copy "\\server\netlogon\printers\y1.vbs.lnk" "c:\documents and settings\all users\start menu\programs\startup\printers.vbs.lnk
then everytime any user logs on it adds the printers from the script stored on nthe network so any changes happen at next logon

Do you add this script using the winsuite administrator tool or via AD users and computers?

Do you do this under computer configuration or user configuration?

i do it via ad create a gpo for each ou then add the 2nd script as a computer startup script the first one i put in netlogon\printers but as long as you adjust to suite and authenticated users have read access it makes no odds where it is
