Hi Folks- Hope we all had a productive summer.
We are having an issue which is starting to annoy us. On certain machines when the user presses the shutdown button, the computer will freeze for a few minutes and then return to normal state. This happens whether the user is logged on or if using the shutdown button on the Ctrl Alt Del screen. This is only happening on certain machines, some of which use different images. Anyone run into this issue before? Machines are all XP and getting updates via WSUS.

10th September 2009, 10:32 AM #2 Not ran into this issue before, but why don't you change the power options setting so that when the power button is pressed nothing happens?
Edit: just realised you're not talking about the power button, probably a service they're getting stuck on? Do they do it when logged in as admin too? If so start killing tasks until you can see which one is causing the hang.

10th September 2009, 10:35 AM #3 It's not the actual Power Button on the machines, it's the shutdown in the start menu.
