group policies for XP on 200 server

Stupid question but i ask it as i don't want to cock up my existing AD/GPO setup.

If i import XP adm files onto my 2000 server will these overwrite my current settings or will they just fit in and work?

They will add the extra functionality without screwing it up.

You need to patch up the 2000 server, and connect to it using GPMC from an XPSP2 PC to get the functionality of the new ADMs IIRC.

Don't do what I did and try to use both the 2000 ADMs and the XP ADMs together - bad mojo!

The XP templates replace the 2k ones and are backwards compatible as far as I remember from my MCPs.

MS recomend you always do any Group policy editing from a workstation with the admin pak installed on it. It will check the adm versions on the Workstation and the server and update the server one if required.
