Re: Ejay - Daemon Tools (virtual drive)

@plexer: I had issues with this aswell... from what i remember you dont point it to the exe that i think is located at the root of the folder, there is another exe floating about, i believe with the same icon.

now here is the fun bit, i had to log onto each machine (bout 8) as admin and then run the app, this i think creates some files etc and then after that when kids logged in it was all ok....

    good luck

No problems here. I use MagicDisc 2.5.74 to mount the ISO locally.

ok I have created a msi for dance ejay but you have got to use the network version cd. It works like a treat deployed to 60 machines no problem. You have got to use the network cd not the standalone cd else it does not work.

Re: Ejay - Daemon Tools (virtual drive)

must be a full moon. just spent a loooong day getting the new music suite ready for open day next monday, and we ahve a problem with dance ejay 7. for the time being we're keeping a copy of disc 2 in the dvd drive, and that'll change after monday. The problem we have, whether admin or not, is trying to save what you've done/created. It saves to a default folder on the C: drive, or so it says, but there's nothing there when you look. any ideas?

I know it might be a bit obvious but have you checked users have NTFS permissions on the C: drive directory they try to save to?

We also have/had it - any software that requires booking someone to come to the school to install it is not a good piece of software in my book.

We are having trouble creating an msi for this peice of software.. We have the network CD aswell.

Apparently when the MSI is clicked nothing happens?!

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers

Can't you have a computer somewhere (locked away) with the CD in and share the CD drive? Then map the CD drive to the computers when the pupils login.... Would that work?

We have tried this from the server and it just seems to freeze. Also we have the network addition so no CD is needed.

You would think a piece of software this popular would be easier to deploy!

    Thanks!
