Dear all, i did clone a pc hard disk Dell optiples 755 150 GB to a new Dell optiples 760 250GB.
after cloning i attached the hdd to 760. when starting it loading up to windows xp is loading and giving me a blue screen. and ask me to check the CHKSDK/F. what i ma doing wrong?

16th June 2009, 12:11 PM #2 Boot up from a XP install cd and press r when prompted to enter the recovery console (not repair installation). Follow the prompts to select the disc and username/password. Then at the prompt type chkdsk /r and press enter.
Let that run through (can take ages), reboot and see if that works.

I know this will be a silly question but was the image from exactly the same motherboard. If its not then you would get this sort of thing. Try a repair install from a windows xp cd.

I'd agree to try this first as it's much quicker than chkdsk, and i've also come across this, mainly on HP laptops.
