All I want is some nice and easy to deploy Encryption software, I really don't want to have to image any machines when I do it.
Whilst Truecrypt is free there are no instructions on how to deploy it automatically.
Is there a server based product out there? - I don't mind paying (well, to a point!)

It's not a hijack, If there is one out there I'm all for it! How about configuring it automatically too!

13th June 2009, 05:12 PM #5 I just searched wpkg
TrueCrypt - WPKG | Open Source Software Deployment and Distribution
TrueCrypt
This is a silent installer for TrueCrypt, a program for using files or partitions as encrypted volumes. Very high level of security is offered alongside with hidden volumes etc.
Unfortunately it currently doesn't have a silent installer. The following uses msi-packet from
RogueSpear (Registration to forums required). Msi-packet doesn't support silent uninstalling.

There is some good advice at:
Data handling security guidance for schools
Becta Schools - Data handling security guidance for schools
Keeping data secure, safe and legal is a summary document for network managers, senior leaders or staff with a responsibility for securing data. It outlines the key measures organisations should adopt. http://schools.becta.org.uk/upload-d...n_handling.pdf
Dos and Don’ts is a common sense guide that senior leaders can make available to staff to ensure everyone within an organisation knows how they should be helping keep data secure.

16th June 2009, 11:48 AM #9 Hey, has anyone got a copy of the original 2008, 54 page, BECTA guide to data encyption? You know, the one with a large section detailing how to use TrueCrypt? It's been replaced on their site, with a newer, shorter version

16th June 2009, 07:41 PM #11 I spent a long time making an MSI for truecrypt, has that MSI been there for long lol?
I just installed the MSI from the souceforge site and it doesnt seem to work as it doesnt install the driver? (checked on Vista)
I think my MSI ONLY installed the driver and they could then run truecrpyt in portable mode?
Its been a while, and after hours of work, only 2 people ever brought memory sticks to me.. but hey
