I'm having another look at this java update as we're currently on update 5 there seems to be a new mst file called sp1033.MST now are you all deploying that with group policy or is it picking it up automatically from the share?
This is just one of those packages and one of those days. Earlier I tried to deploy this with the sp1033.MST then without it, then with my old custom .mst that I used with 6 Update 5 and earlier. They all failed
Almost immediatly after I posted this I tried with both .mst files and It installed straight away SIGH!!!
