    sysprep & media player 11

There were problems with sysprep, xp and media player 11, there appears to be an updated version of sysprep that fixes this. Also mini setup fixes the issue, but I have not been able to confirm this.

Anyone had dealings with this problem and if so how did you fix it?

I've just run NEWSID on an XP machine with MP11 and I haven't noticed anything untoward.

Yep had that problem Imaged the machine 4 times before I figured it out. Use the miniset up and the updates sysprep and there problem... well I would say "goes away" but that makes it sound like a fix Maybe I'll settle for "is bypassed".

I can't say I've ever had this problem. What exactly happens to MP11?

It gets broken, Dynamoo's Blog: "The system is not fully installed": Windows XP, WMP 11 and Sysprep

Although the link explains how to fix it, I've still never had it happen on lots of different hardware I have imaged. One solution could be to deploy an image without MP11, then deploy MP11 using WSUS afterwards.

I may actually do it this way, though it would be nice to have it already installed. :/

Download details: Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 Deployment Tools for Advanced Users (32 bit)

This contains a newer version of sysprep than I had been using, its up to ver 5.2.3790.1830
