Anyone know how you change the User Labels in AD so that instead of reading "Description" it reads "Year Group" ?
I'm guessing it needs to be done through the Schema Management MMC and/or ADSI Edit - but i cant see where i change the label descriptors

Is this a good idea? Chaning the schema can have knock on affects in a BIG way.

Wouldn't it be easier to add a field to the schema instead of modifying an existing one?
I suppose the real question should be, why do you want to do this?

we use the "description" field to hold year group info, but we didn't bother changing its name. We also use the "employee ID attribute" to hold the individual pupil ID's from MIS.
