    Windows updates

Windows updates is failing intermittantly on one of our admin machines, it's not on wsus as it's on a seperate network, it's Xp pro sp3, the problem began just after installing sp3. Having googled the error this seems to be common, but it's odd because today I managed to get it to update successfully 5 updates then it went into a decline and refused to update any more. I'm going to run this tommorrow
    net.exe stop wuauserv
    regsvr32.exe wuapi.dll
    regsvr32.exe wups.dll
    regsvr32.exe wuaueng.dll
    regsvr32.exe wucltui.dll
    regsvr32.exe MSXML3.dll
    net.exe start wuauserv
but I can't understand why it will download updates one day and not the next.

It happens from time to time, knickers in a twist etc!

I've used similar to what you're going to try tomorrow and it worked quite well.

There's a tool somewhere that does it for you and probably some more.
