you sure its a xp home machine that looks like a vista....

We get this on our sharepoint install - i've just bought some more SSL certs to get rid of the dialog box as we have additional things hosted off our sharepoint box.
In the meantime if its possible to remove via registry I could do that in the meantime, so i'd be interested if anybody does have a solution.
This occurs when you you have a HTTPS website that contains some data / images that are not HTTPS enabled. For example your website is HTTPS but your main image is actually linked via a HTTP link. Internet explorer picks this up as being insecure (rightly so) as on a HTTPS site, all site data and images should be HTTPS. I agree with IE doing this - but it is annoying when you get HTTPS sites that contain normal images such as SUN's website.
Find the HTTP linked image/data and HTTPS it! If you click "No" on the security dialogue you will be able to find the data/image that is not HTTPS enabled as it will show up as a red x.

Thanks i know why it does it and how to turn it off manually but would like to know how to get rid of it in the registry.
Does anyone know?
Thanks

It's interesting you bring this problem up as it happens alot with secure pages within IE8 and it's a nuisance. Choosing "no" makes the page load correctly.
I'm unaware of a workaround and I think it's by design. I've had a good look within IE8's advanced options and I didn't find anything relating to secure pages.
