    Or media player classic, comes as a nice single EXE with no installation. I use it from my USB key.

    another +1 for VLC - It'll play ANYTHING - even has it's own in built DVD codec

    I was under the impression that although VLC itself is free to use, some of its codecs are not?

    libdvdcss is an encryption breaker, it basically allows the VLC player to play encrypted DVDs (Commercial ones). Had a big thread about VLC etc in schools

    Codecs and DVDs

    Im not really sure what to suggest here, we need MP4 playback in our school but are unsure of the implicaitons of using the ffdShow codecs etc.
