my suppliers keep banging on about the symantec ghost solutions suite. Now in the symantec spec it states it will only do upto XP not 2003... is this true??

Re: Server 2003 imaging software
Had to do this myself a couple of weeks back. Basically, had to replace all the drives on a Dell Poweredge 2500 server running W3k - had to fit larger drives.
I plugged in an Adaptec IDE RAID Card (1220a?) with 2 stripped 40 gb drives (just to give enough storage space) and then used Norton Ghost 2002 to Ghost the C drive to an image file on the IDE drives.
I then replaced the 3 drives forming the C drive, rebuilt and scrubed the array, then ghosted the drive back from the image on the IDE drives.
Had to do the same for the D drive as well. All worked perfectly!
I did have several 'normal' backups on standby in case but thankfully didn't need them.
In short, get hold of Norton Ghost 2002. I have got Norton Ghost 10 as well but find it a right pain - 2002 is soo much easier to use.
