We currently have PMP version 6 with no support. I'm in the process of moving printers over to a new Print server, I've installed PMP6 to the new server however, whenever the service is on students cannot print. I think initially it was because both servers had the service on, so it was complaining about licensing but I've stopped the service on the old print server now and it still doesn't print!!
I'm thinking about upgrading to 7 and get support back but will avoid it if I can. I also want to do a lot more with print restrictions and track local printers so maybe another product is better!
In the past, I've found creating a small script which stops and starts all Print related services can help, for example:
Save as Printers.bat and save it in the root of your System drive on the server.Code:@ECHO OFF NET STOP "TCP/IP Print Server" NET STOP "Print Manager Plus" NET STOP spooler NET START "TCP/IP Print Server" NET START "Print Manager Plus" Pause
