    @hbjb. We upgraded from SP2 to Sp3.

    I have plugged PC into different switch port, but nothing. It picks up an IP fine, and can ping it via name so DNS is fine.

    I'll probably reboot the server tonight to eliminate that issue.

    What do the event logs say on the machines which are failing to redirect?

    A couple of noteable things:

    - The Group Policy client-side extension Folder Redirection failed to execute. Please look for any errors reported earlier by that extension

    - Windows has detected that Offline Caching is enabled on the Roaming Profile share - to avoid potential profile corruption, Offline Caching must be disabled on shares where roaming user profiles are stored.

    Try doing a GP Results against the machines after logging on to them and see what is/isnt bwing applied. This will also show any errors.

    Could you make sure 'Grant the user exclusive rights to My Documents' is unticked.

    User Config > Windows Settings > Folder Redirection > My Documents > Settings tab

    Thanks, but they are all unticked in the OU.

    But can't find that setting on the local PC.

    Talking

    We had a similar problem to this with clients after we upgraded to SP3. We needed to add an empty My Documents folder to the mandatory profile folder then it worked again fine.
    Might be worth a look.

    Looks like you've solved it now, but GPOs are obviously not being deployed fine - your previous message says "The Group Policy client-side extension Folder Redirection failed to execute. Please look for any errors reported earlier by that extension" - ie, the GPO is being read by the machine but not being applied.

    The other message about off-line files is probably irrelevant but you don't want offline files on a roaming profile share; it will just cause grief.

    If it goes wrong again, the first thing I'd do is run gpresult - if you do a gpresult /v > c:\temp\gp.txt you'll get a file showing the results of group policy application. Do this on a working and a non-working machine and you will hopefully see what's gone wrong.
