Hello all,
Reading news at Neowin Internet Explorer 8 has RTM with a final build of 8.0.6001.18691. On the surface it looks the same as IE7, but as to what benefits (if any) it'll include, I really don't know!
Interesting the Cipher Strength has been increased to 256-bit, up from 128-bit with IE7.
Wonder if anyone will not be using it and sticking with Firefox??

Well it's supposedly more standards compliant compared to IE7, but what will this mean for a typical user I don't know; however this no doubt will be good for developers.
Internet Explorer 8 has reached RTM
hahahah ignore me!!
I've only just seen someone has posted the same link as me!! the site I normally check!

It had a few things like accelerators which were mildly useful, tbh I still used firefox on W7 as its quicker. Still had to make a load of fixes to my site for IE8 cus the formatting was way off.
It had some interesting developer tools in the beta not sure if they will be in the final version but it was like a lesser version of firebug.

You could just add the header tag to put IE into compatibility mode automatically btw.Still had to make a load of fixes to my site for IE8 cus the formatting was way off.
yeah tried the compatability modes, there is IE compatability, IE7 and IE8 mode now, and all of them displayed my gradiented background through the centre table column in Moodle! Added an IE exception rule to it and it works now.
I used Google Chrome for a bit, has anyone else tried that?
Cool, been running the RC for a while now and its nice and fast. Had a major bug in the text selection though that meant it sometimes selected all the text in a box instead of the bit you moved your mouse over.
Hopefully they have fixed that.
Is there an ad blocker for IE yet? I couldn't do without my firefox add block and flash block software
IE 8 Blocker GPO already in place here. No idea what's going to break with it!

I use Ad Blocker Software - Ad Muncher .Removes the ads from IE, MSN, firefox etc etc etc. Was only a tenner or something. Best bit of software Ive ever bought.

So far not had many issues with the sites we have - will need to keep an eye on it though..
