Can any one tell me whether there is a free util that can extend the partition of a RIS server. When it was created the server had the system volume created too small and now the server is complaining of no disk space. The remaining space is already set aside to use for the images.
If not is there any other way of doing this, i.e copying the images off to another server and deleting the extended second partition and then increasing the partition given to the system volume to expand to fill some of the now vacant partition.
I don't build the servers so am unsure as to what approaches will work.

There was a similar post to this a while ago and think the conclusion was that if you wanted something to do this your going to end up paying for it Im afraid. There were one or 2 suggestions of open source stuff but I dont think they were trusted enough to do the job because of the features they had.

Thanks for the response. I did do a search of forums but could not find info.
I was afraid that might be the answer.
Is it possible to copy off the images and then rebuild the server and copy them back into the ris server images folder to be detected by the RIS again? We have a fair amount of images on the disk you see...

The widely used and highly reliable Ntfsresize utility non-destructively resizes the NTFS filesystem of Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT4 and Windows Vista. All NTFS versions are supported, used by 32-bit and 64-bit Windows. No defragmentation is required prior to resizing. Ntfsresize is included in the ntfsprogs package, developed by the Linux-NTFS project. You don't need Linux installed to use it because there are several ways to run it, for example by booting one of the many Linux Live CD, DVD or USB sticks (they run straight from the boot media then RAM, not from the hard disk).
