Toshiba Sat Pro 300
Hi there, im having issues with Toshiba Sat Pro D300 and also a HP laptop, when i come to reinstall windows it tells me that it cant find a hd drive.
on the toshiba if i use the recover disk it works. but i would prefer to install a new verison of windows for a network build.
I wondered if the had sata hd and this is the problem? i've tried creating a version of windows xp with the Toshiba hd controller built in using nlite. but still no luck, am i missing something simple?
thanks
nick

Sounds like you need the sata driver at the 'Press F6 to install drivers' during the windows set up installation.
Have you tried nipping into the BIOS and setting the hard drive in compatability mode, gets round the sata driver issue, performance could be lower though.

10th February 2009, 02:27 PM #3 Using nLite is the simplest solution. If it still doesn't work, then chances are you're using the wrong driver (I would of thought). I use this technique a lot and saves the need of manually providing drivers at setup. It's also ideal for including ethernet drivers too (for example).
