I haven't looked at my Sophos setup in a while [Sophos may make changes from time to time] but have a look at my post in this thread:

Could that be what you are looking for?
Alternatively having looked at my home machine updating policy I have this [See attached picture. I have removed the username supplied by Sophos] I am fairly sure that you could do the same for your Secondary Update Source in Console.

In Birmingham schools the Primary server is one of the school servers and the Secondary an LA server, so laptops can update at home. This works great and saves me a lot of time, however I highly recommend you disable updating on dial-up. It's not so bad with identity file updates, but new versions can eat up all the bandwidth!
ahhhhhhhhh thanks guys think thats what I was looking for
You can also just use Sophos as the Secondary server with your emxxxx username \ password to get updates from the Sophos AV server over the Internet (useful for standalone clients if you don't publish updates over the web yourself)

applied the policy and works fine now, checked a few laptops and the secondary server address/settings is now set![]()
