Any body installed this yet?
I i correct in thinking it is a full install that over installs your current WSUS and not jsut a SP

Didn't even know it was out! EEK! Is it designed to bin expired updates and declined ones automatically and clean the database of duplicate machines?
I need to get this implemented over the summer - need to get a spar box to handle it though!
Damn I just moved my WSUS to a different server last week too.
Should be able to download it before they get in to school.

What's New in WSUS SP1
WSUS SP1 is a service pack release that improves the security, reliability, scalability, compatibility, and performance of WSUS. This service pack includes the following new features and improvements:
• Windows Vista support. WSUS SP1 allows you to update computers running Windows Vista.
• Full client language support. WSUS SP1 supports all Microsoft Office and Windows Vista languages.
• New version of WMSDE. WSUS SP1 upgrades WMSDE from WMSDE SP3 to WMSDE SP4.
• Faster performance. WSUS SP1 improves performance, including accelerated user interface response times.
• All hotfixes. WSUS SP1 includes all changes and hotfixes issued since the release of WSUS.
• Support for SQL Server 2005. WSUS SP1 allows you to use SQL Server 2005.

I'm currently running WSUS and don't have any Vista clients or SQL 2005 so I think I'll wait for reports of the service pack before installing it. WSUS is already doing a superb job keeping all my 2000/XP machines updated.
Yeah I just updated and its made no noticeable different, just a few extra products.Originally Posted by Michael

Something for me to think about![]()
Updated it here this morning, no real changes just SQL 2005 now in the Products List.
Oooo desisions desisions. Think I might wait till summer for this.
woo I missed that one... i dont get to wait till the summer tho, i have to do it out of hours booo
Looks good!
Can WSUS be added to a normal Server 2003 Domain Controller or does it have to run on a seperate box?
I want to try this at one of my schools tommorow, but they only have one Server which acts as the Domain, DNS, DHCP, Fileserver. Would adding IIS6/WSUS be okay? The server is a P4 3.06Ghz, 1.5Gb Ram, SATA, RAID and is used by less then 40 clients.
Thanks![]()
Looks like i will try it out tomorrow if i get chance now that some of you lot have,
