26th January 2009, 05:01 PM #1 Samsung Webmin Password.. Needs reseting
We have a Samsung CLP-510 Network, we stupidly left the webmin Security option unticked, it looks like a students has logged into the printers webpage and set a password!!
Samsung firstly took 35minutes to accept there was a password option within the printer (asking me to enter windows auth or contact the IT department!)
They then said that this password cannot be reset !!
I told her that this was a new printer and we need to reset this password, she said sorry, is there anything else i can help you with?
I then called Digicare who do Samsungs repairs, they suggested that it cannot be done.
This surely cannot be true !!! You have to throw a brand new printer away just because the password is set?

Not a problem, E-mail them instead demanding you want a detailed responce as to why you only found this out from a third party. What they have offered as so called customer service is shocking.

I've just run into the same problem with a SCX-3205W printer. It doesn't let me enter a password only.
Actually, I had changed the password in the configuration dialogue, and I typed it twice including the confirmation box. Now neither the old nor the new password work. Splendid. Any hints on resetting the thing would greatly be appreciated!

MfG
