    After reading through the comments made, and what you said you have done i think you may have to call VM Tech Support as it may be a setting on the set top box thats stopping it as someone else suggested.

    Whilst you're on there, ask whether you can have one of their modems and 'free' (12 month contract) wireless routers. (or at least a modem as there's something wrong in my brainbox about having internet via an STB when you could have a perfectly good and seperate modem!

    Yes, these days it works if you power cycle the modem (i find this out when I'm testing routers for people and you need to power cycle the modem to pick it up/hand off the dhcp lease).

    Hi Karl,

    Turn both bits of kit off (properly, not stand by), turn the STB back on, leave it a minute or so to settle down until it's happy, then turn the PC on.

    See how you get on.
